Crunchy Beer Battered Hatch Green Chile Strips with Green Chile Sour Cream Sauce

Ingredients For Beer Battered Green Chile Strips:

  • 2 cups Grape Seed oil

  • 4 Large Roasted Hatch Green Chiles (Hatch Canned Green Chile can be substituted)

  • 6 oz. Beer

  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour

  • 1/2 tsp corn starch

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Pinch of Camino

Preparation Instructions for Hatch Green Chile Strips

  • Roast, then remove skin, seeds, and stem from the green Chile. (or Hatch Roasted Green Chile in Can). linked to buy

  • Cut as many 1/2 inch strips you can from the green chiles. Set aside.

  • In a large frying pan heat 2 cups of grape seed oil at a medium-high heat. (approximately 375˚)

  • Cover a plate with paper towel for laying the fried strips after frying to absorb the oil.

  • Pour beer, flour, baking powder, chile, salt, and pepper to a medium-sized mixing bowl and mix thoroughly or until there are no more lumps in the flour.

  • Dredge chile strips through the batter, then fry in grape seed oil till golden brown. Lay on paper towel to drain.

  • Serve with Green Chile sauce.

Green Chile Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 Tbs Loma Linda Green Chile Powder

  • 1 Tps Garlic Powder

  • Squeeze of Lime

  • Salt to taste

Stir all ingredients in a bowel and serve on side for dipping
